BARBARA HEINRICH

BARBARA HEINRICH WAS BORN INTO A WINE GROWING FAMILY IN GERMANY. DURING HER CHILDHOOD SHE MADE JEWELRY FROM FOUND OBJECTS AND THEN FROM SILVER WIRE AND GLASS BEADS IN HER TEENS. AFTER A FORMAL GOLDSMITHING APPRENTICESHIP AND THEN STUDYING JEWELRY DESIGN AT THE WORLD RENOWNED PFORZHEIM ACADEMY IN THE BLACK FOREST, SHE RECEIVED A SCHOLARSHIP TO COME TO THE UNITED STATES. HERE SHE EARNED A MASTERS DEGREE IN FINE ARTS AT RIT AND STARTED HER BUSINESS AS A STUDIO JEWELER IN 1986.

BARBARA’S 18KT YELLOW GOLD JEWELRY IS HAND FABRICATED IN HER STUDIO BY HERSELF AND A TEAM OF TALENTED CRAFTSMEN. AESTHETICALLY SHE STRIKES A FINE BALANCE OF A CONTEMPORARY LOOK WITH A CLASSIC FEEL. THE DEEP TRADITION OF GOLDSMITHING IS EVIDENT IN EACH PIECE. A HIGH LEVEL OF SKILL AND CRAFTSMANSHIP COMBINED WITH A STRONG SENSE OF DESIGN SETS HER JEWELRY APART AND MAKES IT RECOGNIZABLE. MATTE FINISHES ARE JUXTAPOSED WITH HEAVILY TEXTURED SURFACES AND BURNISHED EDGES. SMALL DIAMONDS ARE USED TO ADD A SPARKLE OF LIGHT TO HER MATTE SURFACES AND COLORED STONES ARE CAREFULLY SELECTED AND PLACED TO ADD PERSONALITY TO THE MASTERFUL DESIGNS. HER MATTE SURFACES CREATE AN UNDERSTATED LOOK WHICH RADIATES IN A RICH SENSE OF CALMNESS, STRENGTH, AND BALANCE. SHE BELIEVES THAT THE SERENE BEAUTY OF HER GOLD JEWLERY SUPPORTS AND REFLECTS THE BEAUTY OF THE DIVINE NATURE ESSENTIAL TO HUMAN BEINGS.
