The Squash Blossom will be hosting a special live painting event with Dan Deuter and JR Monks on Saturday, July 14 from 11 AM-4 PM. In the spirit of the west, Deuter is a real life cowboy and Monks is a modern day rancher. Stop by for the chance to learn about how their lifestyles influence their western landscapes.
Deuter’s focus is on scenes of the Old West. Growing up on a ranch in South Dakota gave him an insight into life as a cowboy. He gains inspiration from his work in restoring historic cabins, hunting buffalo, tanning hides, and trapping beavers. He and his wife live on a ranch near Montrose, Colorado.
Monks is a fourth generation Colorado rancher and maintains a studio in the eastern plains near Limon. His experiences as a rancher and the opportunities to paint outdoors have greatly inspired his creativity. He feels a deep connection to nature and his art is an homage to its infinite complexity.
Additionally, Peyote Bird Designs will be holding a trunk show from July 12-July 15. Peyote Bird is a family-owned business focused on evoking the spirit of Native American jewelry and design. Stop by for the chance to see an extended collection of their designs!
