On Friday, May 4, visit The Squash Blossom from 5-8 PM for First Friday ArtWalk. Two Colorado artists: sculptor Mike Dwyer and painter Judith Babcock will be at the Squash Blossom to meet attendees and show their creative processes. Dwyer has an extensive background in the animal sciences, resulting in realistic sculptures. In addition to sculptures, he has created bronze doorknockers, a popular gift or home décor option. Babcock is known for her impressionistic and palette knife paintings. Her paintings are vibrant and full of color. Join us for the chance to watch these artists create their masterpieces and for free refreshments, wine, and community.
Come back on Saturday, May 5 to participate in the Library Art and Wine Event, featuring The Squash Blossom’s artist, JR Monks. Monks will be doing a demonstration at Pike’s Peak Library starting at 2 PM. Afterwards, guests 21 and older are invited to the Sweet Elephant for complimentary wine tasting and are welcome to visit the Squash Blossom to see more of JR Monks pieces. Monks is a fourth-generation rancher from Limon, Colorado. His works pay a deep homage to nature and landscapes. There will also be raffle tickets available for more gifts from the White Elephant. It is sure to be a fantastic encore to ArtWalk.
Get ready for a fun, eventful weekend of art! We hope to see you on both Friday, May 4 for ArtWalk and Saturday, May 5 for Library Art and Wine.
